Whenever Rustic Russ and I get a chance, we head out for a walk on our trails.
We enjoy visiting.
And hearing the latest news.
Berry Beary Blvd. is especially exciting in the fall.
Berries are bountiful and Zip always seems to scare up about a dozen “Pats”.
The other night she jumped for one as it flew up past her.
When she’s not startling the partridges, she “helps” pick berries.
Odd though, she never seems to have any to contribute to the cause.
This week, we saw the first evidence of winter approaching.
But for now, we will enjoy our snowless trails and quiet walks.
Until tomorrow ~ God willing,
Woodswoman

Hey Sherry, Your blog always always always puts a smile on my face. Love the photos of Zip picking berries. Our Lacey just discover these fine treats (black berries and raspberries) growing right in thru the fence of her new home in the “old folks ward”. Retirement is good and yummy. (Of course mom and dad make sure to pick a few extra for her to snuffle out of our hand, easier than those thorns on the snout.) Thanks for sharing

Love that the little goat follows, just like the pup!

I love pictures of Zip. I have a red heeler named Annie. Her face and expressions are really similar to Zip’s. Question: doesn’t Zip herd your animals? My Annie runs after animals, including horses, and tries to herd them all the time.

Thanks for the comments everyone. In answer to your question Grace, yes, Zip likes/lives to herd. It’s in her nature. However, we guide her as to when we wish for her to “go to work”. It’s for us to decide, not her.
Luckily for us, she’s smart and will heed the given command with ease.
