Sundays have rituals.
In the summer months, the ritual includes horses.
And long rides.
Leaving the property.
And heading out for the unknown.
Picking up friends along the way.
Two-legged and four-legged.
Spending the day, seeing the sights, and enjoying the ride.
Saying goodbye at the end of the day, knowing you’ll do it all again next week.
Until tomorrow ~ God willing,
Woodswoman

Sherry,
I am so envious that you can walk out the door and go riding. How I miss that. Someday I hope to have a horse again. I kept my saddles and wear my boots.
Have a good ride for me, OK?

Hi Cheanne ~
I can’t believe it was over 25 years ago that I used to board my Palomino “Bonnie” horse at your stable. Seems like a lifetime ago.
You’ll have another horse. I appreciate ours so much ~ can’t take my eyes off of them, and day dream about them while at work.
I don’t ride, however. Russ trained Raz (the big guy) and they are truly one man/one horse material. Our younger Mustang, Nauish, is too young and slight for me. And our little fiery Arab/Cross, Buck, wouldn’t tolerate me on his back. So now, I don’t have any desire to ride. I’ve had too many nasty spills in the past. (Once when I left your barn and headed out on a Sunday on back roads, only to get tossed by Brent Scott’s place. Ended up in ER the next day.) But that will change once our new Mustang comes in September. Comanchero will be my ride. I’m hoping he will be my “fit”. As of now, it looks very promising.
Thanks for the kind words. We have it set up to leave by horse or by dogs. No trailers for us…Russ says if we can’t leave from here, it isn’t going to happen. I agree.
Our world is small.

Wow, Sherry, what a Blog!! A lot of the pictures did not show up, but the ones that did made a lasting impression. I will never feel the same about tent worms again………precious little things that God made along with all the other ‘pests’ as we often think of them. I’ll probably step over and around them from now on. Thank you for your insight. Alice
