…a famous quote by John B. L. Soule, not Horace Greeley.
For years, Mr. Greeley has been credited with this quote, so it’s time to set the record straight.
One week ago today, Papa Russ and I said goodbye to the little Woodsman, our grandson, David.
His visit in Michigan fell on one of the coldest weeks so far this season.
When I saw him at 8:30 a.m. last Thursday morning as he was heading to the airport, little did he know he would be having dinner with Nana Karen and Papa Jose that night, enjoying 70 degree temps on the patio.
Back to California. Back home.
Although David isn’t old enough to say too many words, we had a wonderful conversation before he drove off.
“Oh no…I’m leaving all the snow?”
“Say it ain’t so Nana Sherry…”
“Back on that big plane?”
“You wouldn’t kid me, would you Nana Sherry?”
“Would you?”
“Nana?”
“But I can come back, right?”
“Cool…”
“Bye Nana…”
Bye little Woodsman.
I love you.
Until tomorrow ~ God willing,
Woodswoman
