The B.A.R.K. program is the brain-child of Claudia & Lee Nowak, residents of northern lower Michigan, specificially Traverse City. 

Lee and Claudia have literally traveled the world to visit with mushers and their kennels.

From their travels as race volunteers to Idita-riders, the dog-less couple felt a program of this nature was very much in need in the world of mushing.  Where someone, anyone, could show their appreciation by "buying a round of kibble" for their favorite kennel.  Nowak's felt it would have an impact on not only the lives of mushers, but also their dogs.

Have you ever wanted to thank a musher for a dog sled ride, or a visit to their kennel?  Then this program may be for you!

Have you ever wanted to tell your family to "just buy us dog food" for Christmas, birthdays, or even a wedding gift?  Then this program may be for you!

Have you ever watched Iditarod and had your heart go out to one or more mushers who struggle with the costs of  getting to Nome?Then this program may be for you!

Have you ever received a retired dog from a kennel and had that dog turn out to be the best thing in your life?  Then this program may be for you!
